Georges Frem, who died in 2006, was a Lebanese politician and industrial giant who served as a minister in various roles on three occasions between 1982 and 2003. His company, Indevco, is a major manufacturer of plastic, paper and tissue. The company’s motto is “what is good for the community is good for the company.” Following Frem’s death, the Indevco Foundation was renamed to become the Georges N. Frem Foundation, a Lebanese nonprofit working for economic development, civic education and “a better quality of life for the Lebanese people.”
Frem, who used his diplomatic passport to open his HSBC account, became a client in 2001. He was linked to two client accounts. The first, which listed Frem's name, held under $10,000 in two bank accounts in 2006/2007. The second, GSTR Investments Ltd., listed three bank accounts, held as much as $3.37 million and once listed Frem as beneficial owner.
Georges Frem died in 2006.
